ARCHED WINDOW -I really enjoy painting architectural stone. As far as I’m concerned, most any type of stone makes for a great subject.
Here, in this bathroom, I painted the walls to show masonry work incorporated with old, weathered plaster; similar to what one might find at an old, Italian villa. I wanted the window to look out onto green rolling hills that included oak groves and rock outcrops. The final, and perhaps most prominent element of the piece, was the sweeping boughs of an old, stately oak. Together with the window, they helped to frame the landscape beyond.
